Location: Stevens Point, WI | A friend of mine who is a walleye fisherman took a little time out to fish for some Pike but happen to catch this 52 inch Hybrid. Fish was quickly released after this photo.

Location: Hugo, MN | Nice tiger! Not sure I could hold a thirty pound fish out like that with one hand and still smile, but apparently he can. With any kind of girth that fish is close to the current state record. |

| I looked back at several hundred pics of Lake Mille Lacs muskies I have--most from the mid- to late 90's, and they seem to all look like this fish. "Heavy barring" is what I 'm told by the "experts". Am I missing something in this pic? All my pics look like this fish.....( LOL not as long in most cases but ?)

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It's a hybrid, Steve. Look at the fins, cheek and broken coloration, classic hybrid indicators. We have several hundred Mill Lacs Muskie images onsite for reference. Darned NICE hybrid, too.
How's the Mille Lacs action lately for 'eyes? |

Location: Bloomington, MN | That is a beautiful BIG Tiger, and that is Mille Lacs. Steve Scepaniak, a long time muskie guide on the Pond, did put some big tigers in the boat years ago. He did see a 30" class fish this year sitting up shallow in a harbor, so they do exist. The recent boundary water fish would of shattered the current MN state record tiger, but due to it being "under size", we will never know. If I were that fortunate to capture this ML Tiger I can honestly state that I would be looking for a certified scale with a possible trip for the fish to Antigo, WI.. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The fish is legit. You might notice the angler didn't post this fish, OFM did. It's what it was stated, and exactly what is stated.
And, it's a hybrid. All the markers indicating hybrid are there including the large rounded fins, half scaled cheeks, and more. Of course, we have the benefit of a hi rez image to see that.
Nice muskie. |
