So this is a newbie question. What leaders do you use with walk the dog topwater lures?

In the past I have always just stuck with stranded wire leaders for all baits. This season I have been using stiff single strand leaders for glide baits and really feel the action is better. So i go to thinking if the same applies for WTD topwater.

Thanks in advance.

I use either 9 inch single strand or 9 inch fluoro usually use little lighter pound like 80-100# so its not as heavy

I've been told single strand wire for anything that isn't a straight retrieve and it seems to be working out nicely, very few tangles. But that's if you want to use wire. I've used floro for everything and also had very few problems.

Absolutely this is correct. Single strand on all gliders and WTD baits. I do need a BB swivel on Amma Bammas. You'll know when the bait rolls on you. Also I go snapless, using split ring instead.

Snap less, swivel less, single strand
