Location: Nebraska | My Canada muskie fishing partner is heading up to a cabin that they rented on or near Darwin Lake for a family vacation with his wife, daughters and their boyfriends for a week in June. He asked me if I knew of any lakes in the surrounding area that might slip out to for a day to try for a muskie. I don't know the area but told him I would ask the more knowledgeable here. PM is fine if you don't want to post it publicly. Any direction would be most helpful.

| Nothing super close. Sugar would be the closest. It's my "home lake", and she can be a heartless B. Indy and Tonka aren't too far off from there, straight over on Hwy 12. Roughly an hour drive but much better fishing IMO.

| Actually lake Washington in that area had a good nite walleye bite,,jumbo leeches on lighted bobber s in the flat right before it enters into lake stella,,largemouth under the docks on stella. We used to open season there a couple of years but the old lady at resort stopped renting cabins to groups of guys because she thought they were too rowdy. | |

Biggest twine ball rolled by one man.... there's a bigger one out there if that matters to him LOL!
Other option I would add is Alexander/Shamineau. Little bit further but a little bit better day trip experience than the other mentioned lakes that are closer to MSP.
Quite a few lakes in that area to chase LMB/SMB, Walleye, Pike, and panfish. Even a few with cats available too. Not to mention the quality fisheries over towards Wilmar/Paynesville.
