I'm pretty excited with how these turned out. The paint isn't what you guys do, but I'm really happy with the action out of ALL five of them. Rattle can spray paint with stencils and mesh netting for the paint. Two part envirotex lite. No drying wheel, but maybe some day. All were done out of cedar from my dad's deck! The one maple bait was wood courtesy of muletrain! Thanks Chris.

1. First attempt were the orange tiger little dive and rise...nice action to it, and a slow rise. Darts up, down, right and left. I didn't have a diving tail so I took a leftover spinner bait blade, hammered it flat, and snipped it to fit.
2. My attempt at a knockoff cedar phantom 6" softail. I wanted something I could keep high and really make dart right/left. Again, pretty good action on it. Not exactly like a phantom, but works (and already had one swing and miss on southern WI opener).
3. My combination of Jackpot, Weagle, Lollygagger (muletrain customs), and dancin' raider ...I'm calling it the Jackwagon. Maple, no weight, side to side topwater. This one is probably the best out of all the builds as far as action goes. It's loud, it swings 180...excited for this one this summer.
4. 11" Dive and rise. I was having trouble weighting this one. Thanks to "muletrain" who took a look at it and helped me out, he noticed the head was too light and suggested more weight. Added the 1 oz. screw in weight and has made all the difference. Nice slow rise, good tight shimmy...hope this one gets crushed this summer/fall!
5. 9" dive and rise. Again, trouble with this one and again, "muletrain" to the rescue. Same idea with the head weight. Added 3/4 oz. screw in weight. Made all the difference. This one goes right, left, up, down...super slow death march on this one...looking forward to November and Dec. with this guy!

I have four others I'm working on now...making improvements in the process. It's slow when everything is by hand...and I mean everything. :o)

Stencils & spray cans ya say, hmmmm, you may just get downright dangerous when you get a little practice on an airbrush! Very nice work Roller, I love the excitement that pours out of your post. Just wait till you buckle the knees of a giant Muskie on your own work this season. Perhaps I will have the opportunity to net the beast on the MN opener in a couple weeks! Welcome to a new chapter of fun in the pursuit of the Muskie.

Very Nice! Do you give lessons? I think I need to take some from you after looking at your work.

Ha...My "amateur-hour" baits are barely worthy of posting here. I've had fun with it though and have taken quite a bit away from digging through this section of M1st.

I think they look great. Good for you taking on that project. I'm sure when you catch a fish on one its going to be game over.

My next six...I took ideas from the Raptor, Sandcat, Suick, and Hawgseeker to come up with this.
