Location: mount prospect illinois | A couple of videos my brother and I made from recent trips to Eagle Lake North Shore Lodge with our sons... I love watching home made videos to get me through the hard water months. Anyone else got any??? Any good instructional videos? One can always learn something!

| Those are fantastic! Excellent editing work.
They should bring smiles for many, many years to come. Especially 15 or 20 years from now when the youngsters watch them again with a new appreciation and relive all those great memories.
What is the first piece of music on the 2014 video.

Talmooner, I hunk you are talking about the song "all my days" by Alexi Murdoch. The acoustic song right? I like that song. It was in the move "real steel" too. |

Yes! That was it. It sounded so familiar but I could not place it.
Thanks for getting that ear worm identified. Have to get some of his stuff.
And, again, get vids.
By the way, what kind of drone are you using?

Location: mount prospect illinois | I would think the dji inspire is best for double tens!! Lol. It that wil set you back about $3000.
Tornadoflipn, my brother and I paid $499 for the drone (dji phantom 3 standard) I have recently seen it for $399. It "only" shoots up to 2.7k video. I had it at 1080p I think. I had it 2000 feet away a few times and still had good video. The newest ones go much further. I am happy with what I have right now. |

Very cool.what type of camera/battery are you using for the "follow" shots? Something that has a charger? I use gopros, quad copters etc, it they all have limited battery life and getting good shots like you have are difficult for me due to the time constraints. That and the fact that I am not good.lol |

| Davep- I just have a handful of batteries that I switch in and out on the GoPro. Yes, it is a little bit of a hassel, but I have it down to a pretty quick science so I can still maximize my fishing time. Having the cigarette lighter charger is also very key in the boat. |

| Hello Fisherman, I am a Dutch fisher. Unluckely we dont have muskies in Holland, only Nothern Pikes, big Pikeperches (walley lookalike) en big Perch. I would like to show 3 movies of my own. If it is not allowed because it are no musky in the video just remove it. But I couldnt find a pike forum. I also appologize for my poor english.
The first Youtube video is a lure I developped myself and called a twistfly. I catch a lot of pikes on it. also some very big pikes. The second is a video when I lost a monster pike. It was about 50"or bigger, what is pretty big here for a pike. But what my fishing friends say. Knowing is measuring :(. The Third video is only a slideshow with some pikes in action with only photographs. A few nice one with a photo of a jumping pike only tailwalking and the pike straight out of the water. I will hope you enjoy this video. I have some more videos but I dont want to spam this forum too much.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2sDFRDIRng
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnplxMcV53M
Anyway, this is a nice forum. And i am still jalous you have so much nice water and beautiful fish in your country. It is still the big brother or do i have to say sister of the pikes. Maybe once i come that way to fish on lake of the woods. When i have the money for it.
Kind regards

This is my last video that I uploaded. Also only pike attacks on Twistfly.
From our smal ditches in the Dutch Poldersystem, some brutal or very soft takes of pike. Most American, Canadian I ever spoke was went or talking Amsterdam. But when you come to Holland don't forget your fishing-rod and to fish in the water near the Windmills. But even the most small waters can contain pikes, sometimes longer than 40"
I would also like to say, a saw plenty of muskiemovies & video's from the posters here above, and have seen some great videos. That figure eighting is really cool and that is what I missing, when pike fishing. And also the size of the fish ofcourse.

Love your videos. Very well done.
I fish for pike in Canada, (Northwest Territories and Manitoba) a few times a year. I am always looking for lures that are different.
What exactly is a Twistfly and is there any way to purchase them from the US?
Thank you,

| A twistfly is a creation of myself. I made it about 9 years for the first time. It is a streamer build on a bucktail coil. It depends on the type, i use leaded and unleaded springs to build on it. So i can fish it in very shallow waters and the weighted versions can i bring to 5 till 6 feet deep. It depends also how fast i fish this lure. When you fish it fast it always comes back in the upper water level. But they are perfect to fish over the weeds and drop down al little bit. That is for the basic, it exist on a spring with bucktail, 2 gills of flash (for the show). And a epoxy head. Behind the spring i made a frame with the twintail twister on it. Unluckely this twisters are out of production. They where called Jeltex Twintails. So if you know any shop who sells this lures. Please tell me. The twisters are just like a formula X. I thought it was called in the US. That is the only disadvantage I can tell about the twisters because the most run really smooth in the water. And what every piker know, every twister catch pikes. So bucktail and twister must be a nr1 combination.
I catched al lot of 100cm till 127cm pikes on it. (40" to 50") So after these years I can say that it is an effective lure. But like always, sometimes are other lures better options for different approach. And it is also reasonable you catch the most of the fishes when you fish the most of a time with it. I dont know if i can place a photograph on the forum. What I say, I dont want to spam here. I like also jerkbaiting, flyfishing, spinfishing and when it is really hard fishing there is always a bulldawg or other big gum

Awesome fish. If you do a lot of solo fishing like that look into getting a robo-handle for your net. Much easier to handle.
Congrats. |

Thanks for the explanation on the Twistfly. Based on what you described, I may try building a few myself.
"Zoom" and "Mister Twister" make soft baits that look similar to the Jeltex, but as far the plastic from which they are made being similar, I can not say. I use Mister Twister as a trailer for spoons and jigs. You should be able to find them on Amazon.
Again thanks for all your help and good fishing.

| I hope I am posting this properly? Here is a video I have made recently of some longtime childhood friends that never had been on a major outing before and I was able to provide a fun experience for them. I was able to utilize my drone for some neat perspectives and underwater action taken as well.

It was REALLY odd. She appeared to be following my buddy's bait, then just surfaced. She dove straight down after that and left a consistent trail of bubbles for about 15 seconds. |
