So looking to get some info on repainting hard plastic baits, Depth Raiders, Grandmas, Hell hounds, with rattle can spray paints.
-How do you prep baits? Prime? sand?
-Paints used? Car paints? Home center?
-Clear coat? Is it necessary with spray paints.
-Lacquer vs enamel?
Not looking for high detail just basic colors white silver orange
Thanks

Juhas,
I'm no expert but have done a lot of rattle can painting. My favorite paint is Design Master. Florists use it for spraying all kinds of surfaces and you sometimes find it in Hobby Lobby or Michaels. It comes in many colors, sprays on evenly, covers well, allows for multiple light coats and dries very rapidly. I have hunted crankbaits for years and have to refinish many of those I find. Some just need a light touch-up but those in rough shape I sand down, prime and do a complete repaint. Either way I usually finish with an epoxy topcoat. Hope that helps.
