Fisherman says yesterday but who knows. We did get some snow last monday and I dont see any in the pic but its mostly gone as of yesterday. Hell of a fish no matter when it was caught. Looks pretty fat compared to many IL fish Ive seen.

Independence grove. Remnant population, they no longer stock it and the park district refuses to let anyone put muskies in it citing they are not a family oriented fish.

Not a family oriented fish? Is this a panfish pond for the kids or a lake for everyone?

Not my words. Our musky club and others would like to stock it. The subject comes up at the Illinois Musky Alliance meetings. It is not a state run lake. They are not interested at all in having them in there. I do not believe there are alot of them left in there.

Yes, I saw a picture in a local paper that had a guy
holding a 50+ musky that he caught thru the ice on
a tip-up at Independence Grove this winter. The article
said the guy knew it was in there & was actually trying to catch it on tip-ups. Don't know if he was out in the basin or if it was late ice conditions......but nice musky
anyways. LOL.
