I've been at this for a couple weeks now and can't figure out how to make fine lines without it leaving a big dot at the end when I let off the trigger. What am I doing wrong?

I've been airbrushing for 18 years and I can tell you one slip of the finger and you are starting over. What kind of gun are you using? What kind of compressor?

These are factors. But also practice. Like you said you are a few weeks in. Funny I was just doing some drills of sorts with one of my guns right before I looked at this. Running as small of lines as possible. Then dots. Then I switched colors and tried to put a smaller dot centered on that dot. These are good ways to hone your skills. I learned this when I was 15 years old working at my local hobby shop. Practice makes better

Continue following through the line as you let off the trigger....this is a fine motor skill that takes time to master. The dot at the end is a result of one of two things...you stop abruptly at the end of the line as you let go of the button OR your needle may not be seating well enough in the nozzle. Hope this helps.

You have to keep the gun moving as you let the trigger slip from under your finger. You should never stop with the tip positioned over the lure.
