People will be saying my 72 inch fish can't really be that long because he's only 5.9 and it's laying on the dock because he doesn't want it compared to his height not because he can't lift it. It doesn't weigh 80 pounds because that boat over there has no balls on the downriggers so they must be in the fish. To bad the witnesses to the weighing have been dead for 80 years.

Global warming will have ended to a new period of global cooling, which also ends in favor of another round of global warming.

With such uncertainty, I don't see the fish surviving. Unless of course our politicians come to our rescue.

In my opinion it might be perhaps something like Mad Max -Beyond Thunderdome-with a Bloodhook twist - people may use muskie lures and rods as weapons, survival is most important. by that time gas will be just as valuable as water and your boats will be pretty much useless in the sand that does not support any life other than scorpions and lizards ....

You will be able to create whatever specific musky experience you want without leaving home. You will dial-in specific location, weather, presentation, rod, reel and lure type, size of the musky, etc. Not as much fun as real experience but really close.

Global warming will have ended to a new period of global cooling, which also ends in favor of another round of global warming.

With such uncertainty, I don't see the fish surviving. Unless of course our politicians come to our rescue.

I wish the politicians would get out of the way with and stop burdening us with things like the clean water act, clean air act etc.

Wish we could go back to the days when the Ohio was on fire.....Literally!

Now all sarcasm aside, I hope my descendants are able to fish 100 years from now, and really hopeful they are still able to safely consume a meal of fish fro time to time. I hope they can do so without wearing a gas mask to head outside. I hope they don't have to fish on designated days due to overpopulation of the human race putting strains on resources and infrastructure. I hope they don't have to get the Popes approval to recreate in such a way. I hope they are able to continue to pursue an interest in the outdoors on a middle class budget.

Could go on but think thats enough!

I foresee little change except the electronics will be like swimming with the fish. The baits will have electronic chips in them and weigh grams instead of ounces. The rods will be transparent and weigh nothing. The reels are like butter and cater to our 6th digit and yet catching a 55 will be as challenging and unlikely as it is today.

I would not be surprised if 100 years from now we're back to catching them out of canoes, clubbing them at boatside and thanking our lucky stars that we have meat for the table.

Muskies will be just as dumb and just as frustrating as they have always been.

As for the climate? Hmph. The ground under your feet was once a tropical rain forest. It was also once buried under a mountain of ice. Both will happen again. It's a safe bet that 100 years from now it will probably be different and whatever people are left will probably be arguing about whose fault it is and how to fix it.

lures will have no hooks. PETA-like groups will have taken all "Pain" out of the equation. Lures will have an electronic pulse that stuns fish if they touch the bait and you have a minute to pick up a limp fish before it takes off. No nets. No fights. We all take up another hobby that has more intrigue.

A Hunter S. Thompson-like character will soon become a muskie fishing icon and critic of the industry going by the name, "Musky Hunter S. Thompson".

Famous for adult beverage-fueled quotes like, "This musky business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a nine foot plus graphite hallway where botched net job stories run free, and vintage outboards die like dogs.. There's also a negative side",
he'll fast become our new musky deity.

I would expect electronics which will give 360 degree real time computer enhanced pictures looking completely through, dirty, dingy, or algae bloom water.
Slammer crank baits will still have their custom color cramkbaits for the Milwaukee Expo as they always have.
Slammers will be programmed to "seek and destroy" without the necessity of casting, rods, or line. The bait will be self propelled and temporarily shock the fish and retrieve it to the fisherman/computer operator!
And they still will out perform the competition!
The Slammer t-shirts will have holographic screens which will allow you to display yourself in any video or picture that you may wish!

Raze, I still have those baits you repainted. I dont know what clear coat you used but I have never seen anything like it. One bait has 34 fish and you flat out can't tell. Cold water, clear coat never cracked not even the wood baits. Never see a clear coat hold up like that before. In 2115 those baits won't need refinishing!

In 2115 baits will have their own set of lateral line sensors. So if a fish is within a certain distance of the bait it will send a small wireless electrical signal to your hummingbird showing the exact location on your GPS map (within 12") of the fish, so your next cast (or should I say launch) will be in perfect position to get completely clobbered.

casting will be a thing of the past. Reels will come with special adjustable cannons to adjust based on lure size, so all you do is READY, AIM FIRE!

All reeling will be automatic, press a button and it reels for you if a fish starts to take line, the reel stops and adjusts drag accordingly.

All soft plastic baits will be self healing. If a fish eats it, all you do is place it in the sun for 15 minutes and all the rubber will re-form to brand new condition.

The new polarized glasses wont just remove glare, They will remove all of the water within your specific vision. Meaning you will see all the structure, weeds, rocks, sunken trees or islands as if the water was never there in the first place. You will also be able to see any fish swimming within your target vision area.

Yup this is what we should expect in 2115

That indeed is a sad story. In 2115, the NFWFHOF will have successfully presented certifiable evidence that verifies Louie's "catch" as the record.

Really? C'mon! Can't you follow natural progression protocols? Just blow it up why don't you? We are at 13. So what do you do? 20! I know your type. Your the guy at the card table who sees your buddy 5 bucks and raises him 5 grand! What's next a 15' rod? A topwater with 7 prop blades?:-)

Musky Mayhem's new Model 1000 compressed air cannon, which worked incredibly well with their brand new OMG Magnum CowHerd Bucktail with the quadruple 35's, has been declared illegal by the DNR agencies from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ontario after a cannon shot (previously known as a cast) sliced up an entire flock of Canada Geese.
Rumor has it that Musky Innovations has stopped production of their much anticipated Godzilla's Big Brother Dawg, the 25 pound bulldawg, which they had planned to introduce as compatible with the Model 1000 Cannon.
Well I guess we are back to, believe it or not, manual casting!..........How old school is that!

Don`t forget your helium filled lighter than air 25' rod that will be used to cast the 25lb. Godzilla Dawg. The cold fusion merc 2500 hp tiller will be a big hit too. Perfectly matched to the new Ranger 45T 45' Tiller. Love the 30' rod lockers!

1oo years from now you'll walk into Total Recall and be able to wake up not knowing if you are in the shooting of a musky video called World Record Weekend for (Your name here)!, or if your life consists of the same old crap, different day, but you don't know the difference. You come home and there is a wall full of 55-70 inch holographics adorning your walls, and your wife has a hot meal ready, then says that the musky bite is hot, and she charged and gassed up the boat already. Have a nice trip.
Then she says "I sharpened the hooks on your Goto Hellhound" because she knows you were at Total Recall. Nothing changed I guess.
