Location: Plainfield, IL | I use the the navionics map on my iPad. I have an HDS, but I keep it zoomed in closer than the iPad. I really only use it at LOTW sometimes I can't decide which way is the shortest way around an island or three and it is easier to zoom out on the iPad. It will work without wifi also. |

Location: The desert | Navionics app is great. My buddy and I used it on Wabigoon and it was well marked. |

Location: Ashland WI | Cool. Good to hear it works good. I don't have a GPS fishfinder right now, but do have a tablet. I will mount it alongside my sonar. Even when I get my side imaging hummingbird (someday), I think it still would be nice not to have to split screen and still be able to see the GPS. |

Location: Wisconsin | I have the Navionics app on my iPhone and Galaxy Tab 2. The Tablet is nice, but not so nice around water. |

| Great idea here. I would also recommend a waterproof case like the Lifeproof. It would allow you to never worry about the rain or water damaging the tablet. |

Location: Waite Park, MN | I took my old iPad, bought a waterproof case, and mounted it on a bracket that goes on a pole in my rear deck's pedestal seat base. With Lowrance Gofree, that is now a nice 10" display for the guy casting on the back, or me if I'm trolling and on the back deck. Plus, since I use touch units, the HDS units can be controlled from that pad. At night 3 high intensity LED lites on the pole complement the installation, and with a remote control I can instantly bathe the water when I have a fish on in no/low light conditions. I fish alone most of the time, so it makes for much easier control, netting, etc. Also, now that I have the Xi5 Motorguide, I can control the route and other trolling motor controls from the tablet or HDS units. |
