A jig is a jig is a jig. Come on now, it's a fixed weight on a hook. This basic design has been around forever, seemingly. So, what's the big deal about Clam Outdoors introducing another jig to the already saturated jig market? A lot more than you'd think.

Clam Outdoors has recently placed their new Drop Tg on the market. What is so special about this jig you might ask? Well, it's tungsten, and yeah, yeah, there are already a lot of tungsten jigs out there, but not like Clam's.

"There really haven't been a lot of jig advancements for open-water fishing in 30 years," said John Crane from Clam Outdoors. "Our new Drop Tg jig for open water is that advancement. In my opinion, it's a real game changer.

"Sure, there are other companies with 'tungsten' jigs, but they are made with tungsten powder. Our Drop Tg is made with 99.7 percent pure tungsten. The jigs made with powder don't transmit sensations as well. You can crush them with pliers, but you can't do that with our jigs. They are made with the real stuff."

So, what does the high-percentage harder tungsten provide that other jigs don't? According to Crane, plenty.

"Our Drop Tg transmits a signal like no other. It's comparable to the first time you switch from monofilament line to a superline. The sensitivity difference is that much improved.

"With the small profile, this jighead will allow you to present finesse approaches where you couldn't be as effective before. It's so versatile. This is especially important on highly pressured public waters. Once you fish with the Drop Tg, you'll never want to use lead again."

Available in 8 colors and 5 sizes, Clam has the Drop Tg jig you need to catch more fish. For more information, head over to clamoutdoors.com.
